“If you want, we could go together Friday night,” Mikey says hesitantly.

Frank looks surprised, but the look of surprise on his face quickly turns to happiness. “To the club? That would be really great.”

“There's a new band playing there Friday night,” Mikey says. “I can't remember their name. But it's always cool to check out new bands, you know? Even when they suck.”

Frank laughs. “Yeah. What time? Do you want me to meet you there or something?”

Mikey shrugs. “Do you want to hang out after school and then get a ride with my brother?”

“I'll tell my mom,” Frank says. “As long as I'm home by midnight, I'm good.”

Mikey doesn't really have a curfew on the weekends, but he understands them. “Sure, my brother is cool, he'll give you a ride home.”

“Awesome,” Frank says. He looks really happy at the prospect, and smiles widely. It's a nice smile, and complements his eyes well.

Mikey eats about half of his food, and then the bell rings and it's time to go to class. He has Drama next, and he's almost looking forward to it.

He says goodbye to Frank and promises to sit with him the next day. Frank smiles and waves, going off to his own class.
