The cafeteria was big, with a high ceiling and lots of windows. Long tables ran the length of the room, and at the back was the food. Mikey went through and got a tray, sloppy joes with french fries and salad, and a carton of milk. He looked around for a place to sit and several empty places. There was a spot next to Frank, a spot next to a guy with a lot of hair, a few empty places next to a short guy whose smile Mikey could see from across the room, and then there was an empty place where no one else seemed to be sitting.
