But they're in an alley, and Mikey's never done this before, so he shakes his head. “Maybe not. Not here.”

Bob looks disappointed, but he doesn't ask again. Just keeps kissing him until Mikey's breath is coming in short, desperate pants.

“Want to go back inside?” Bob says after awhile.

“And show everyone my hard-on?” Mikey laughs. “Why don't you take me home?”

Bob gives him a small smile and nods, then leads him out to the car with his hand at the small of Mikey's back.

The ride home is quiet until Bob says, “So... I really like you.”

Mikey looks over at him. His face is illuminated by the streetlights, and he looks nervous.

“I really like you, too,” Mikey says.

“Enough to go out with me again?” Bob asks.

“You really have to ask?” Mikey says. Maybe Bob's not as secure as he seems. “Yeah, I want to. I like hanging out with you. And you're amazing, you make me feel...” He trails off, not wanting to give away too much. “Good,” he settles on.

“Me too,” Bob says, and reaches for Mikey's hand.

Mikey curls his fingers around Bob's and smiles out the window.
