“I don't have any more schedules,” the home room teacher, Mrs. Goldberg, says. The boy with the tattoo shakes his head.

“I'm new,” he says. “I mean, everyone's new here, but I'm new to town. I just registered last week.”

“Name?” Mrs. Goldberg asks.

“Frank Iero.”

“You'll have to go to the office and get your schedule, then. I'll give you a pass.”

Frank smiles and takes the pass, and Mikey decides he likes that smile. It's wide and pretty, and Frank has nice eyes. Mikey's been noticing other guys more and more lately, the way most guys notice girls. He figures maybe he's gay or at least bisexual. It doesn't freak him out or anything, like it did Gerard when he went through the same thing a couple of years ago. Gerard's bi, which is cool with Mikey. Everything about Gee is cool, really, except for a few minor flaws.

The bell rings shortly after Frank leaves, and Mikey finds himself bumping into him in the hall. Frank is holding what looks like the map they were given in home room and looking lost.
